Room To Grow

I have decided that my living room is in great need of a face-lift: It's cluttered with furniture yet looks empty. Everything in there is there for functional purposes, I don't have a very big apartment so I tend to work/play in the one room.

So the plan is to make this room both functional and appealing... I want to see it and not get anxious because it's so full of clutter. I want to be able to do all my shit as effortlessly as possible... I use the room for guests, for lounging, for writing, for doing arts and crafts, for meditating, for doing yoga, my god is there anything I don't use this room for?

The plan thus far is to paint the room a lovely shade of red, which is a big leap for someone who has always had white walls because she's too afraid of colour! Then I shall get wall shelving for the books, and wall shelving for storage of supplies, knick-knacks, etc. I will take most of the furniture out of there and make a zen corner by the bookshelves, as well as other little details that will make this room awesome.

Next step is to do measurements, and then see what kind of money I'm looking at spending. Should be quite cheap as I plan on getting lumber and cutting it to size myself rather than buying shelves.

Yay! I'm excited! I will post pictures of the finished project, of course :)

Hey mister reader, if you are looking at my messy living space and have an idea for me, feel quite free to leave a comment - I like ideas.
