Step 1: Shame

Q: In what situations do I feel shame or embarrassment for someone else's behaviour?

A: (This is very hard to share) I feel shame or embarrassment for [his] behaviour when we're around other people and the bad habits and behaviours peek out;  When he ignores his hygiene and doesn't care how he looks;  When he talks to others about himself or our relationship using hyperbole, half truths, or mis-remembered information;  When we get into arguments in public;  When people ask about us and I have to hold back the truth because I don't want to make him look bad to others.
